The estate's flagship, old vine Garnacha grown across five high elevation vineyards on the rocky hillsides of Rioja Oriental, Las Mulgas, Valfrio, Valviejo and Corral de Serrano among them, vines averaging 40 to 90 years old, farmed organically. Destemmed and crushed, fermented in large oak vats with indigenous yeasts, then matured around 12 to 14 months in French oak. Alvaro Palacios describes the wine as fleshy and fluid with a soft aftertaste, evoking a hillside covered in chamomile and rosemary. Sensuous notes of orange peel, red currants, nectarines and black cherries on the nose and palate, well integrated tannins and a long finish, built to drink now or age up to a decade. Good with richer roasted meats or aged cheeses.
